Dr. Christopher J. Rubbert  DVM began his career at the Bronx Zoo, where he worked for eight years as a wild animal keeper and elephant trainer.

Interested in pursuing his passion for animal health, he attended  Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, from which he graduated with High Honors. He then completed his residency at Oklahoma State University where he also graduated with high honors.

He practiced medicine at several hospitals throughout Orange, Ulster, Westchester, and Sullivan counties before opening his facility in 2005.

Dr. Rubbert lives in the town of Wallkill with his wife Lisa and their daughters, Melissa and Jessica, as well as an assortment of exotic pets.  Family outings always turn into a wildlife classroom and the family shares his love of nature.

Outside of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Rubbert and his family enjoy an active outdoor life, including sports, exercise, fishing  hiking, "swamp tromping", and boating.   He enjoys playing third base in a local competitive men's softball league.
